Centrally located between Hilo and Volcano is our Keaau VR: a beautiful large house that hosts two Suites under one roof: the Plumeria Suite for large families and the Gardenia Suite for couples. This duplex is surrounded by a 4 acre property with beautiful palm trees and has much privacy.

The property is close to Highway 11, with Volcano at 30 minutes drive uphill and Hilo at 20 minutes drive downhill. The ideal starting place for adventuring the east side of the Big Island, knowing that when you come home at the end of the day your Suite has everything you need to feel comfortable and relaxed!

  Both Suites have the following amenities: complimentary high-speed wireless internet, cable tv, fully equipped kitchen with fridge, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster. We are currently adding an outside lounge area with sauna, two jacuzzi tubs and a barbeque. This area will also feature a shared washer and dryer and will be ready as of October 31st, 2010. 

PLUMERIA SUITE: 

Our Plumeria Suite is a large 2100 sqft suite that sleeps up to 8 people. Prices range between $150-210 per night (depending on the season).

The Plumeria Suite is a beautiful vacation Suite that accommodates groups of friends and families all wanting to stay in one place or just those who like to have space. It features a large living room with open kitchen and a sleeper sofa. It has three bedrooms with one King, one Queen and two Twin beds. All beds have pillow top mattresses and down or down alternative blankets and comforters. The two bathrooms have bathtubs with showers and a granite countertop. The Plumeria Suite features hardwood flooring, bamboo furniture and two large glass sliders that open up to the spacious covered lanai. This is island style living at its best!

  The Gardenia Suite is a large 900 sqft studio and sleeps up to 4 people.

There is a King size bed with pillow top mattress and a down alternative blanket and comforter. The sleeper sofa has a futon mattress and blankets, sheets and pillows will be provided upon request. The bathroom features a bathtub with shower. Our Gardenia Suite hosts a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area in the spacious living room. Light flooring and bamboo furniture give this Suite a romantic touch and through the two large glass sliders you have a view over the 4 acre property. This Suite welcomes you home with its comfort, beauty and peacefulness!

 The Keaau VR is crucially located in the middle of the triangle Hilo, Volcano, Keaau.

Detailed descriptions of nearby hot spots: 

Volcanoes National Park located between mile marker 28 and 29 off highway 11. You will need at least an entire day here for hiking and sightseeing to say the least. This amazing area can keep you fascinated for days with its lava tubes and trails in addition to the Visitor Center complete with an Art Gallery and Natural History Museum. The Volcano is home to native birds and plants. Don't forget your camera, it is a must!

Punalu'u Beach Park ("Black Sand Turtle Beach") is a black sand beach in the district of Ka'u off Highway 11 near the 56 mile marker which is a 20 minute drive from the Volcanoes National Park. If you plan on swimming, snorkeling and having a picnic there is a good chance that you will see an endangered green sea turtle.

Pu'u Mahana Green Sand Beach in the Ka'u district at South Point is a hikers dream. The green sand is made from crushed olivine. The waters are usually calm and there are no life guards on site. Either you will need to have a four wheel drive or prepare yourself for a 6 mile hike in paradise.

Hot ponds - Kapoho Tide Pools naturally heated hot springs at the junction of Pohoiki Road and Kamu Kapoho Road. Fun and relaxation, one of the islands best locations in its natural state. Nearby is Isaac Hale Beach Park which is better known as Pohoiki, perfect for surfing but too strong of a current for swimming.

Lava Tree State Park where the Lava Trees Loop Trail is located: the result of lava flows that swept through the forest leaving behind molds of the tree trunks. It is 2.7 miles southeast of Pahoa, off the Pahoa-Pohoiki Road. Great for picnics and family walks, the loop trail is 0.7 miles that is paved but still has an uneven ground surface.

Kalapana - Lava viewing at night! Kalapana is where the lava of the active Kilauea crater is hitting the ocean, producing immense clouds of steam and firy explosions that glitter in the night. An unforgettable experience to watch this wonder of nature!
